Managing Navigation Menus

Good navigation helps visitors find what they are looking for quickly. Nuvi lets you configure multiple navigation areas across your storefront.

Navigation Areas

Your store has several navigation areas:

  • Main Menu — The primary navigation in the header. Visible on every page.
  • Footer Menu — Links in the footer, typically for policies and secondary pages.
  • Mobile Menu — Automatically generated from the main menu for mobile devices.

Adding Menu Items

The quickest way to add menu items is through the AI assistant:

  • "Add a menu item called Shop linking to /products"
  • "Add a menu item called Blog linking to /article"
  • "Add a menu item called Contact linking to /contact"

You can also configure menu items through the theme customizer under Settings > Themes > Customize.

Creating Dropdown Menus

For stores with many categories, dropdown menus keep the header clean:

  1. Create a parent menu item (e.g., "Shop").
  2. Add child items under it (e.g., "T-Shirts", "Accessories", "Sale").
  3. On desktop, hovering over the parent reveals the dropdown. On mobile, tapping expands the submenu.

Common Menu Structures

Here is a recommended menu structure for most stores:

  • Home — Link to /
  • Shop — Link to /products (with dropdown for categories)
  • About — Link to /about
  • Blog — Link to /article
  • Contact — Link to /contact

Footer Links

Footer menus typically contain:

  • Quick Links — FAQ, Shipping Policy, Returns Policy
  • Legal — Privacy Policy, Terms of Service
  • Contact — Email, phone, address
  • Social — Links to social media profiles

Configure these in the footer section of the theme customizer.

Reordering Menu Items

Menu items can be reordered by editing the menu configuration in the theme customizer. Items appear in the order they are listed.
